New York, NY — The citizens of New York, were frozen in place, this afternoon, as a crane, at the Hudson Yards construction site, raised a 25 ton rooftop air chiller to its final resting place, atop one of the site’s residential buildings.
While some were simply impressed by the capabilities of men, others had darker Imaginations. “Oh boy, if that thing fell — it’d probably go right through the street into subway!” said, Jason Briggs, a UPS delivery man. “It’d be terrible, and you hope nobody gets hurt, but man wouldn’t it be awesome to bear witness to that level of destruction,” added Briggs.
Penelope Mendez, a local baby sitter, shared similar sentiments with Briggs. “People shouldn’t be allowed to do this kind of stuff. Like, what if the wind suddenly picked up and smashed that thing into the side of the building, sending razor-sharp pieces of glass to rain down on all of us, like some kind of nightmare confetti!?”
At Press time, the group of passersby could be seen letting out collective of growls of frustration as a taxi narrowly avoided a T-bone collision at a nearby intersection.
